Expedia runs neat gamified video campaign

Expedia is currently running a neat creative campaign for its Australian users called “Tag me if you can”. I have to confess that I’ve never heard of the actor Nathan Jolliffe who is shown travelling to a different location each week on YouTube. So this one was relatively easy one for me I thought:

But of course it’s not :) And as it’s actually about guessing the location and marking it on a map within a 10m radius it’s quite challenging. A new quest is published every week (with clues being published every day) and if your guess is in the radius you have the chance of winning some $150k. Of course this is a nice opportunity to show where you can book a trip to on Expedia and the ads tie in nicely with the locations presented on the campaign page.

This is also a great example of content marketing mixing up an entertaining quest with information about places worth travelling to for the purpose of selling trips to these locations. Surely a pretty expensive one too.
